RELIEVERS: Five pens to watch in spring training

Pitchers and catchers have reported and now it is time to flag a few situations worth watching in spring training where roles may be won or lost in a few situations. Here are five such situations where you should pay close attention, particularly early in spring training, starting in Atlanta.

Atlanta intends to use a hybrid of lefty Will Smith (LHP, ATL) and righty Chris Martin (RHP, ATL) for leverage situations, including save situations. Here are the current BHQ projections:

ATL Sv Hd IP xERA WHIP K% K-BB% HR/9 BPV $ ADP

W.Smith (L) 26 17 73 3.41 1.11 33 25 1.9 151 10 249
C.Martin 6 19 65 3.12 1.00 28 25 1.0 167 3 418
