RELIEVERS: Early tour of skill sets

This week, this column commits the cardinal sin of paying attention to data sets of 6-12 innings. But take comfort that the analysis remains still rooted in the comparison to projected skill sets. The reason we need to look at the early results is to help you pounce on unsuspecting owners who may get overwrought by the early returns. We will start with a chart of pitchers who have jumped out of the gate with strong skills and then take up a chart of slow starters, skill-wise. Here are those off to a great start:

                   IP ERA WHIP Dom Cmd HR/9 xERA G/F BPV pxERA pBPV
================= ====  ==== ====  ==== ==== ==== ==== ===== ===  ===== ====
C.Janssen (TOR)    7.0  1.29 0.43  11.6  --   --  1.37 60/13 246   2.91 ...
