As was noted in PT Today upon the signing of Max Scherzer, the expectation was that Scherzer’s ramp-up would be slow and he would be unlikely to be ready for Opening Day. The 41-year-old Scherzer, though, seems to be doing all he can to force the issue and shake up the team’s rotation plans. In his Grapefruit League debut on Saturday, Scherzer threw four no-hit innings on 40 pitches against a lineup that featured seven Phillies regulars.
