Answer: Still somewhat undetermined as Sung-Mun Song’s injury gives San Diego a bit longer to try out options, but Gavin Sheets is the mainstay

Sheets performed at a high level during the spring, and his new manager Craig Stammen appears to have noticed. Sheets, with 4 HR and .605 SLG, looks to be swinging the bat well, and the lefty was rewarded with the Opening Day start against LHP Tarik Skubal. Stammen explained that “Gavin has earned that right to get the Opening Day start at first base. He’s a leader, a connector on our team....
