The White Sox are in a rebuilding year, going through the process of figuring out which players will and won't be a part of their next contending roster, and as a result, they entered 2026 with a lot of questions to be answered. One of the biggest of those questions was what to do with Grant Taylor.

Taylor was a starter in college at LSU, and was viewed as a potential first-round pick in the 2023 MLB draft before Tommy John surgery caused him to miss that entire season. Instead, he dropped to the White Sox at pick #51 in the second round.
