NEWS: Chicago optioned RHP Javier Assad to AAA-Iowa and announced that RHP Jameson Taillon will be reinstated from the IL today.

BHQ SPIN: After making two starts following last week’s return from the IL, Assad was optioned to AAA by Chicago ahead of the team’s scheduled doubleheader on Monday. The demotion of Assad cleared the way for the promotion of Luke Little as a temporary bullpen reinforcement.
