NEWS: OF Ceddanne Rafaela (right quad strain) is expected to make his return to the lineup for Boston on September 23.

BHQ SPIN: In Rafaela’s absence, the Red Sox have been using a platoon of OF Jarren Duran and OF Nate Eaton in center field, having OF Roman Anthony play left field and using a platoon of Mickey Gasper and Jahmai Jones at DH. How the Red Sox parcel out at-bats as they balance giving players some rest before the playoffs while not having them lose their timing at the plate remains to be seen. But if we presume Rafaela is a fixture in the lineup to help him find his groove, there will be one fewer spot for Gasper or Duran to slot in against righties, and Eaton or Jones...
