Schmitt to take over 3B for Giants

NEWS: San Francisco placed 3B Matt Chapman on the 10-day IL with an abdominal strain and recalled 2B Christian Koss from the minors.

BHQ SPIN: Chapman will likely be held out through the All-Star break while he recovers from his core injury. In his stead, Casey Schmitt will come in from the outfield to take over every day at the hot corner. Jung-Hoo Lee will shift to right field to replace Schmitt and to open up center field for a platoon between Drew Gilbert and Jonah Cox. Koss will provide depth as a backup utility infielder.
