Braves | Will Smith activated
Atlanta Braves RP Will Smith (illness) was activated from the injured list Thursday, Aug. 6.   Source: MLB.com

BHQ take: When Smith signed this offseason, many thought he would be the Atlanta closer in 2020. Instead, even before Smith’s illness, Atlanta committed to Mark Melancon. Nevertheless, Smith is coming off a 2019 season in which he saved 34 games and had a 13.2 Dom and a 180 BPV. Any stumble by Melancon will likely lead Atlanta to use Smith as the closer.  —Phil Hertz
