Blue Jays | Brett Cecil removed as closer
Toronto Blue Jays RP Brett Cecil (shoulder) has been removed from the closer role, at least temporary, according to manager John Gibbons. Cecil's velocity was down to 87-88 mph Wednesday, April 8, and he admitted he is a couple weeks behind due to the shoulder soreness he dealt with during spring training. Gibbons noted Cecil will pitch in the seventh and eighth innings for the time being to work through his issues.  Source: MLB.com - Gregor Chisholm
