NEWS: Chicago reinstated RHP Marcus Stroman from the 15-day IL and optioned RHP Daniel Palencia to AAA-Iowa.

BHQ SPIN: After initially landing on the IL on August 1 for right hip inflammation and then suffering a right rib cartilage fracture while sidelined, Stroman returned to Chicago’s active roster on Friday. Stroman skipped a rehab assignment and is not fully stretched out at the moment. According to reports, the right-hander threw about 45 pitches in a three-inning live batting practice on Monday. For the time being, Stroman is expected to pitch out of the bullpen as he builds up his pitch count with the hope of stretching out in time for the playoffs. Thus, the rotation spots of...
