| San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday, Aug. 28, because of nerve irritation in his elbow. The Giants also recalled SP Chris Heston from Class AAA Sacramento. He received a cortisone shot and underwent an MRI a few days ago which came back clean.
