NEWS: Atlanta acquired veteran lefthander Chris Sale from the Red Sox in exchange for Vaughn Grissom.

BHQ SPIN: The 35-year old Sale’s skills have barely dimmed. In 2023, he had a 3.67 xERA, a K-BB% of 23%, and a BPX of 161. The problem is his F health rating. He’s spent at least a month on the IL every season since 2018, and sometimes a lot more than a month. His 102.2 innings in 2023 were the most he’s thrown in a season since 2019. Assuming health, and that’s a big assumption, he will join Spencer Strider and Max Fried at the top of the Atlanta rotation.
