NEWS: RHP Kodai Senga is missing time due to discomfort at the base of his right index finger.

IMPACT: Medium

BHQ SPIN: It’s not yet clear how much time Senga will miss. While the Mets are optimistic the setback is minor and that Senga will not miss much time, his availability for Opening Day is now far from certain. If he is unavailable, he will be the second member of the Mets rotation unavailable - José Quintana is already out. When Quintana was hurt, we anointed David Peterson as the pitcher most likely to replace him in the rotation. Tylor Megill would be the favorite to take Senga’s spot in the rotation if the righthander from Japan is not ready. Megill had an uninspiring 5.13 ERA in 2022, but...
