NEWS: Kansas City reinstated 1B Nick Pratto from the 10-Day IL and optioned 1B/OF Matt Beaty to AAA-Omaha.

BHQ SPIN: Pratto had been Kansas City’s primary first baseman prior to being sidelined since late July with a groin strain. Following Pratto’s activation on Friday, he was on the bench against a left-handed starter, indicating that the team could limit his at-bats against lefties. Even if this is the case, Pratto still should start most games against right-handed starters largely filling the role of Beaty, who had started eight of the last eleven games against righties while splitting time between first base and designated hitter prior to being demoted.
