NEWS: Chicago placed 2B Nico Hoerner on the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain and recalled IF/OF Miles Mastrobuoni from AAA-Iowa.

BHQ SPIN: Hoerner has been placed on the IL retroactive to May 9 after the team had tried to avoid an IL stint for a hamstring strain suffered in Monday’s game. It is unclear how much time Hoerner is expected to miss but given the fact that the team held off for several days to place him on the IL, it is likely that they are hoping it is a relatively short stint.
