NEWS: Justin Verlander placed on the IL with a “low grade teres major strain.” Tylor Megill has been called up.

BHQ SPIN: The Mets say Verlander will continue to throw with moderate intensity and will be re-evaluated in a week. The Mets are hopeful he won’t be out for long, but we’ll drop his projected innings about 20% while we wait for updates. Megill lost out on the competition for a rotation spot late in spring training, but now will fill a slot. Megill started 2022 looking like a potential ace, then started to get hit, and finally wound up on the IL for an extended time.This spring he compiled a 3.71 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 17 innings. The warning sign is that he walked 13 batters....
