NEWS: Arizona re-signed outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. to a three-year, $42M contract that includes an opt-out after the second year and a club option for a fourth year.

BHQ SPIN: In need of more right-handed hitting and a veteran presence in the outfield, the Dbacks brought back Gurriel, a key member of the 2023 squad that won the National League pennant. A first-time All Star last year, the 30-year-old set a high water mark with 2.1 fWAR and hit a career-high 24 homers, yet put up his lowest full-season wRC+ (106).
