NEWS: New York agreed to terms with shortstop Carlos Correa.

BHQ SPIN: Hours after Correa’s agreement with the Giants fell through, the Mets stepped in and signed Correa to a 12-year, $315 million contract. Correa will become the Mets’ every day third baseman. His arrival has a few domino effects. Eduardo Escobar, who manned third in 2022, will become a utility player and part-time DH. Third baseman Brett Baty, New York’s #2 prospect who  received 38 AB in August before suffering a season-ending thumb injury, is now likely to start the season at Triple-A Syracuse where he will primarily play left field.
