NEWS: The New York Yankees placed OF Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list because of a strained left hamstring.

IMPACT: High

BHQ SPIN: A subsequent MRI revealed that Stanton had suffered a Grade 2 sprain, which may keep him out of action for a month or more. In a corresponding move, SS Oswald Peraza was recalled from Class-AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but Peraza’s claim on a roster spot may be short lived, as 3B Josh Donaldson is due back soon. Once Donaldson is back, the Yankees could use whichever player is not in the lineup at second or third base from among Donaldson, 2B Gleyber Torres and 3B DJ LeMahieu as DH.
