BHQ SPIN: In one of the more bizarre statements in recent memory, the Cardinals front office says that top free-agent addition and torch-carrying replacement for franchise icon Yadier Molina will no longer, well, catch – and will instead become the primary DH. This announcement has a ripple effect throughout the lineup as Contreras’ (-5%) vacated catching PAs will go to Andrew Knizner (+15%) and recently called-up backup catcher Tres Barrera (+10%).
