BHQ take: If Snitker’s decision sticks, then Melancon’s fantasy value takes a quantum leap. Melancon, of course, served as a closer for four teams before suffering an assortment of pitching injuries. He’s been enjoying a renaissance in 2019. Melancon’s xERA is 3.43 and his BPV is 115. Those numbers would be even better if you exclude his first outing after being anointed the closer.
