Red Sox | Jean Machi named closer for BOS
Boston Red Sox RP Jean Machi has been named the team's closer, according to interim manager Torey Lovullo. RP Junichi Tazawa, who had been closing games, will return to his eighth-inning role.  Source: CSNNE.com - Sean McAdam
 
BHQ take: Once again, the BOS closer role changes hands between their two primary, late-inning relievers. Tazawa does, in fact, appear to be more effective in a setup role, posting a 1.87 ERA with 33 strikeouts against one walk in 33.2 eighth innings, but sagging to a 5.59 ERA with seven strikeouts against three walks in 9.2 ninth innings....
