Angels | Yunel Escobar placed on DL
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 3B Yunel Escobar (back) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday, Aug. 8. RHP Eduardo Paredes was recalled from Class AAA Salt Lake in a corresponding move.  Source: MLBRosterMoves
 
BHQ take: Specifically, Escobar's injury is being initially described as a Grade 1 oblique strain that is expected to sideline him for the next 2-3 weeks. Luis Valbuena is the team's best 3B defender, and he moves across the diamond from 1B to take over most of the reps there. The playing time winner appears to be C.J. Cron, who has been a big disappointment...
