Tabata on thin ice in Pittsburgh

Jose Tabata (OF, PIT) was out of the Pirate lineup again Monday night amidst more hints out of Pittsburgh that he's in danger of a demotion.

Manager Clint Hurdle noted last week that Tabata has been inconsistent and too passive in his play, and that he needed to put more effort into his game.  Regardless of the reasons, Tabata's poor season is readily apparent from both bottom line and underlying skills.  His .620 OPS, 3 HR and 8 SB after 252 AB aren't enough to guarantee future PT.  And despite his .273 xBA, Tabata's poor patience, pitch selection and 63% GB% all factor into his problems to date.  If that birth certificate is accurate, the 23-year-old Tabata has time...
