Acquisitions, activations, injuries shake up SF roster

Perhaps in an attempt to counter LA's recent acquisition of Hanley Ramírez (3B, LA), SF traded for versatile former COL infielder Marco Scutaro (2B, SF) to provide depth and experience to an underwhelming middle infield currently manned by Brandon Crawford (SS, SF) and Ryan Theriot (SS, SF). To make room for Scutaro, Emmanuel Burriss was designated for assignment. 

With a .271 BA, four HRs and seven SBs, the 36-year-old Scutaro is in the midst of another respectable season, and his resurgent 123 Spd is the highest its been since 2006.
