Liriano traded to White Sox

Thanks to White Sox GM Kenny Williams, Francisco Liriano (LHP, CHW) got to ride the express elevator from the basement of the AL Central to the penthouse. Liriano was acquired in a trade that sent two players with limited major league experience, infielder Eduardo Escobar (IF, MIN) and pitcher Pedro Hernandez (LHP, MIN) to the Twins.

While Liriano's new teammates got to him for seven runs over 2 2/3 IP in his most recent outing July 23, Liriano had been pitching quite well before that, posting PQS-DOM numbers in nine of his previous 10 starts. His June and July BPV have been in the triple-digits (102, 118), and his xERA is more than a run and a half lower than his actual ERA (3.78 vs....
