Hudson ready to join Atlanta rotation

Tim Hudson (RHP, ATL) was solid in his final rehab start at AAA Gwinnett on Tuesday, allowing one run, with four strikeouts and two walks in 5.2 IP. He is scheduled to join the Atlanta rotation on Sunday versus the light-hitting Pirates after working his way back from November surgery for a herniated disk.

Last season was Hudson's second full season since 2009 Tommy John surgery, and he produced his best Dom (6.6), Cmd (2.8), and xERA (3.24) in a decade, while pitching 215 innings.  He has adapted well to the aging process.  Since his TJ surgery, he has relied far more on his sinker than previously, and has thus been able to maintain his nearly 60% ground ball rate.  We are...
