Padres | Everth Cabrera activated
The San Diego Padres activated SS Everth Cabrera (hamstring) from the 15-day disabled list Friday, July 5, and optioned SP Burch Smith to the minors in a corresponding move.  Source: MLB.com - Corey Brock

BHQ take: Cabrera moves back into the starting lineup at SS, where it will be interesting to see if his hamstring issues affect his elite running game. Pedro Ciriaco moves back into a bench role, though again, Cabrera has a history of hamstring issues. Smith continues to ride the Padre shuttle between SD and Tucson.  —Jock Thompson
