LAA acquires Greinke for prospects

In an effort to improve a rotation whose back-end starters have disappointed, LAA acquired Zack Greinke (RHP, LAA) from MIL Friday for three minor-league prospects. Greinke has elite skills, including 137 BPV and 2.92 xERA, suggesting his current 3.44 ERA might dip by season's end.

It's unclear whether Ervin Santana (RHP, LAA) or rookie Garrett Richards (RHP, LAA) will be the displaced starter. Santana has been hit hard recently, with three PQS-DISasters in his last four starts, while allowing 21 ER, with 4 K/8 BB in his last 14 IP. He could be headed to the bullpen.

Richards' rotation spot is also vulnerable, as he has shown spotty Ctl/Cmd, with 32 K/26 BB in 48 IP. His 1.2...
