Marlins turn to Victor Mesa Jr. as Derek Hill returns to IL

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Miami Marlins
NEWS: The Marlins placed outfielder Derek Hill with a left wrist sprain and called up outfielder Victor Mesa Jr.
IMPACT: Medium
BHQ SPIN: It’s not known how serious Hill’s injury is at this time, but given this is his second trip to the IL with the wrist injury has prompted us to cut his playing time projection from 65% to 45%. Kyle Stowers gets a small playing time bump, but Mesa gets the bulk of the 20% deducted from Hill’s projection. The 23-year old Mesa and his brother Victor Victor were signed out of Cuba in 2018. He has 14 homers, five steals and a .766 OPS over 379 plate appearances at Triple-A. For more on Mesa, see Daily Callups.
