NEWS: Arizona placed RHP Ryne Nelson on the 15-day IL with a strained right elbow and recalled RHP Yilber Díaz from the minors.

BHQ SPIN: Nelson was scratched from his scheduled start on Friday which was initially labeled a partially torn flexor tendon. He’s been officially diagnosed with an elbow strain and is likely due for a lengthy absence. Further tests in the coming days should determine the severity of the injury and the necessity for surgery. Michael Soroka had his start pushed up to replace Nelson and suffered an injury of his own.
