NEWS: MLB placed RHP Emmanuel Clase on non-disciplinary paid leave through August 31.

BHQ SPIN: Cleveland will be without its closer for the foreseeable future as Clase has been placed on leave while the team conducts an investigation relating to gambling. Similar to our treatment of MLB’s investigation of Clase’s teammate, Luis L. Ortiz, we have removed the majority of Clase’s projected innings and saves, given the distinct possibility that he does not pitch again this season. With Clase sidelined, Cade Smith is now the favorite for saves in Cleveland.
