NEWS: Detroit announced that OF Matt Vierling has been reinstated from the 15-day IL; SS Trey Sweeney has been optioned to AAA-Toledo in a corresponding move.

The Tigers' offense has been doing well without him, so the versatile Vierling may bounce around between third base and outfield in a utility role until his bat returns to form.
