NEWS: Baltimore placed C Adley Rutschman on the 7-day concussion IL

BHQ SPIN: Baltimore announced before Saturday’s game that Rutschman was placed on the concussion IL. Rutschman’s absence should allow Samuel Basallo to get the majority of reps at catcher, with Sam Huff serving as the backup. Basallo getting more playing time at catcher rather than designated hitter should allow the team to rotate its designated hitter spot between its regulars for now, which could benefit the playing time outlook for Coby Mayo, who had been losing at-bats to Blaze Alexander of late. To take Rutschman’s spot on the active roster, Baltimore promoted Michael Siani, who is expected to fill a reserve role...
