The Santana Plan is a roster construction strategy that advocates building a pitching staff around one elite starter or Santana Plan "anchor.” The rest of the roster strategy follows BaseballHQ.com’s LIMA plan. In a nutshell, still budget about 25%–31% of your auction dollars on pitching, which will require that you fill out the rest of your starting pitchers with less expensive, high-skilled options. Spending 69%–75% of your budget on batters should put you ahead of your competitors in compiling batting statistics.
