The "Labadini Plan" is named for Larry Labadini's historic team in an early LABR season. Labadini once drafted a team with nine $1 pitchers, focusing the rest of his $251 budget on offense—and he almost won. The idea is that hitters are more stable commodities than pitchers and make more reliable draft-day investments. With some element of surprise, a combination of some useful end-game pitching to supplement a top-notch offense permits the Labadini owner to make a couple hitter for pitcher trades...
