1. Estevan Florial (OF) ... 6-1, 185 ... L/R ... 21 ... 2014 FA (HT)
YearTeam (LG)ABBA/OBP/Slgbb%ct% EyeHR/SB
2017Charleston (Sc) (SAL)344.297/.373/.48311640.3311/17
2018GCL Yankees West (GCL)31.548/.600/1.00011840.803/5
2018GCL Yankees (GCL)17.548/.600/1.00011881.002/3
2018Tampa (FSL)294.255/.354/.36113700.513/11
2019Tampa (FSL)274.237/.297/.3838640.248/9
Comments: Top hitting prospect struggled with broken wrist during lost 2018 season, has patient approach and plus-plus bat speed. Swing shortened up in AFL look, but still struggled maintaining swing path and chasing breaking balls. Raw plus-power; will likely reach it by maturity. Swing path is geared towards increased loft. Defensively, a future plus CF.

Development Path: Florial will likely return to the Florida St League for the 3rd straight year, though he could be in Triple-A by the end of the season, especially if AFL strides continue.

Fantasy Impact: Buying into Florial is buying into an unrefined tool shed. The power/speed combination carries the profile. There is risk the hit tool never materializes, which will cause the profile to suffer immensely, especially the power tool.

Upside Grade: 9D

2. Jonathan Loaisiga (RHP) ... 5-11, 165 ... 24 ... 2013 FA (NI)
2018GCL Yankees West (GCL)
2018Tampa (FSL)20.01.351.0000.511.70.241
2019Trenton (East)
2019Scranton/WB (IL)15.26.321.2102.910.93.8.230
2019NY Yankees (AL)31.24.551.4804.510.52.3.246
Comments: Hard-throwing RHP emerged after several seasons plagued by arm injuries. Four-pitch pitcher with easy, repeatable delivery. High-octane FB has limited movement profile. CB has bled into SL shape, with sharp 2-plane movement. Late fading CU took step forward, eliciting swings and misses in 2018 big league debut.

Development Path: Because of the injury history, the Yankees have been very careful with Loaisiga. They will continue to manage his workload by working him in Triple-A and MLB. He's ready to be MLB successful.

Fantasy Impact: Loaisiga is an under-sized pitcher with an extensive injury history but a starter's profile of pitches. He could become a top flight fantasy starter or possibly a top flight closer. Arm health will determine his overall role.

Upside Grade: 9D

3. Albert Abreu (RHP) ... 6-2, 175 ... 23 ... 2014 FA (DR)
2018GCL Yankees (GCL)
2018GCL Yankees West (GCL)5.023.403.2003.
2018Tampa (FSL)
2018Trenton (East)
2019Trenton (East)
Comments: Lean, athletic high-upside RHP has struggled with injury bug in 2017 and 2018. Elastic 3/4s, slightly cross-armed delivery with plus arm speed. Three-pitch pitcher. FB gets on hitters with late run. Throws hard CB with solid shape and break. Replicates FB arm speed with late-fading CU. Potentially, a plus pitch at projection.

Development Path: Abreu was the talk of Yankees' fall instructional league, seemingly turning a corner with the command of his pitches. Let's see it continue in Double-A next season

Fantasy Impact: Abreu is a tough prospect to grade, as he flashes premium front-line stuff. However, his results and injury history pushes the profile down a bit. Still, Abreu looks to be a solid #3 starter, which could prove to be a conservative projection.

Upside Grade: 8C

4. Everson Pereira (OF) ... 6-0, 191 ... R/R ... 17 ... 2017 FA (VZ)
YearTeam (LG)ABBA/OBP/Slgbb%ct% EyeHR/SB
2018Pulaski (App)167.263/.322/.3898640.253/3
2019Staten Island (NYPL)70.171/.216/.2575630.151/3
Comments: Athletic, toolsy OF made pro debut and held own in aggressive Appy League assignment. Quick, unrefined swing. It's short and compact but he struggles to incorporate his lower half; will need to tighten it up to reach power potential. Raw plus power in frame and a plus runner who didn't run enough in debut. Potential plus-plus defender in CF.

Development Path: Few international prospects get their pro career started in the Appy League. Pereira held his own. He'll likely handle another aggressive assignment to start 2019 with Single-A Charleston.

Fantasy Impact: Pereira is an easy prospect to dream on because of his advanced hit skills at 17. He will need to sharpen up his hitting mechanics to get to his power. He has the potential of littering several categories with stats at maturity.

Upside Grade: 9E

5. Clarke Schmidt (RHP) ... 6-1, 190 ... 23 ... 2017 (1) University of South Carolina
2018GCL Yankees West (GCL)
2018GCL Yankees (GCL)
2019GCL Yankees (GCL)
2019Tampa (FSL)63.13.841.3103.
2019Trenton (East)19.02.370.7900.59.00.197
Comments: Was drafted high in 2017 despite recent Tommy John surgery, returned late in 2018. Athletic, 3/4s delivery with good extension. Three-pitch pitcher. FB has ticked back up in rehab with solid late run, exploding on hitters. SL has plus profile with tight, sharp break. CU took step forward prior to injury, and profiles as above-average offering.

Development Path: Schmidt logged just under 30 innings in his return from TJS. The Yankees will likely act conservatively and assign him to Single-A to begin the season. Depending on workload restrictions, could accelerate quickly up the chain.

Fantasy Impact: The Yankees bet big taking Schmidt high in the 2017 draft despite recently going under the knife. Schmidt profiles as a mid-rotation starter with 3 above-average or better pitches. High Dom, Low Ctl, and could actually become front-line starter with a little luck and additional sharpness.

Upside Grade: 8C

6. Roansy Contreras (RHP) ... 6-0, 175 ... 19 ... 2017 FA (DR)
2017GCL Yankees (GCL)
2018Staten Island (NYPL)
2018Charleston (Sc) (SAL)34.23.381.1803.
2019Charleston (Sc) (SAL)132.13.331.0702.
Comments: Athletic, undersized RHP saw stuff and velocity tick up in big development year. High-3/4s online delivery. 3-pitch pitcher. 2-seam FB has solid arm-side run and downward action. Plays up due to advanced command. 12-to-6 CB has solid depth but inconsistent movement but flashes plus potential. Lacks consistent feel of CU.

Development Path: Contreras dominated the New York Penn League so much that he earned a promotion to Single-A. Look for him to start in Single-A in '19.

Fantasy Impact: Contreras has fantastic upside potential and showed he could dominate advanced competition despite relative young age. Could become solid mid-rotation starter.

Upside Grade: 8D

7. Anthony Seigler (C) ... 6-0, 200 ... B/S ... 19 ... 2018 (1) HS (GA)
YearTeam (LG)ABBA/OBP/Slgbb%ct% EyeHR/SB
2018Pulaski (App)43.209/.340/.23316881.600/0
2018GCL Yankees West (GCL)36.333/.429/.47214810.861/0
2019Charleston (Sc) (SAL)97.175/.328/.20617710.710/1
Comments: Athletic, ambidextrous CA prospect made pro debut after his first round selection. Super athletic for position. Played all over as amateur, including as a switch-pitcher. Switch-hitter at the plate with advanced approach. Great ct% and bb% returns in debut. More explosive hitter from LH side, where he reaches average power.

Development Path: Seigler had under 100 ABs split between Rookie Ball affiliates because of leg and head injuries. It would be aggressive but it isn't far-fetched for the Yankees to assign Seigler to full-season ball to start 2019.

Fantasy Impact: The switch-hitting Seigler is a quality all-around player. He doesn't do one thing exceptionally well. However, the sum of his parts should make him a solid player at projection in fantasy.

Upside Grade: 8C

8. Delvi Garcia (RHP) ... 5-9, 140 ... 19 ... 2016 FA (DR)
2018Charleston (Sc) (SAL)40.23.761.0102.
2018Tampa (FSL)
2019Tampa (FSL)
2019Trenton (East)53.23.861.2904.414.63.3.211
2019Scranton/WB (IL)40.05.401.4804.510.12.2.245
Comments: Small-statured, athletic RHP has developed into a quality SP prospect despite max-effort, cross-fire delivery. Three-pitch pitcher dominated across three levels. Low-90s FB has slight run but is deceptive out of hand. 12-to-6 CB has great shape and terrific break; a plus-plus offering. Developing CU has average potential. Plus arm speed.

Development Path: Garcia ended the season with a start at Double-A Trenton. He'll likely head back there to start 2019.

Fantasy Impact: Garcia's size and max-effort delivery likely pushes the starter profile to the pen. There's high Dom potential, especially if his FB plays up and he improves his CB consistency.

Upside Grade: 8C

9. Antonio Cabello (OF) ... 5-10, 160 ... R/R ... 18 ... 2018 FA (VZ)
YearTeam (LG)ABBA/OBP/Slgbb%ct% EyeHR/SB
2018GCL Yankees West (GCL)137.321/.426/.55513750.625/5
2018DSL Yankees (Dsl)22.227/.433/.31821731.000/5
2019Pulaski (App)227.211/.280/.3308660.253/5
Comments: Athletic OF had North American debut cut short by a shoulder injury but has five-tool potential. Advanced approach with some spray skills. Quick hands and strong forearms aid plus bat speed in strong, stocky frame. Could hit 20 HRs at projection. Plus runner who doesn't utilize speed well. Raw defender; likely corner OF.

Development Path: Even though he's 18, Cabello displayed an advanced feel for the game in the GCL, he is likely ready for a full-season assignment, despite this last season being cut short by injury.

Fantasy Impact: Cabello's advanced approach coupled with his extreme upside drives the fantasy profile. The skill set is still very raw and volatile given some poor hitting mechanics, such as shutting off the outside half of the plate with his swing.

Upside Grade: 9E

10. Michael King (RHP) ... 6-3, 204 ... 23 ... 2016 (12) Boston College
2019GCL Yankees West (GCL)5.24.760.8803.
2019Staten Island (NYPL)
2019Trenton (East)12.29.951.7401.
2019Scranton/WB (IL)
2019NY Yankees (AL)
Comments: Physically mature, command/control RHP is knocking on door of MLB promotion. Easy, repeatable 3/4s cross-armed delivery utilizing solid base well. Four-pitch pitcher. Best pitch is 2-seam FB with plus movement and command. Mixes above-average CT in to deviate off FB. SL lacks quality movement but deceptive due to plane. Fading CU average pitch.

Development Path: King has dominated the upper minors. With a potential roster crunch, he likely starts the season in Triple-A.

Fantasy Impact: King isn't overpowering. His two-seam movement is Kyle Hendricks-like. His secondary pitches aren't as advanced as Hendricks, which limits is overall Dom potential. Still, a dependable profile for MLB success.

Upside Grade: 7A

11. Luis Gil (RHP) ... 6-1, 160 ... 20 ... 2015 FA (DR)
2018Pulaski (App)39.11.371.1705.713.32.3.151
2018Staten Island (NYPL)6.25.402.5508.
2019Charleston (Sc) (SAL)83.02.391.1904.
2019Tampa (FSL)13.04.851.4605.
Comments: Lean, hard-throwing RHP acquired in early-season trade with MIN. Easy 3/4s delivery with plus extension despite rawness of delivery. Three-pitch pitcher. Four-seamer has solid, late run, plus-plus at maturity. Throws a slurvy CB, which will need to be refined moving forward. Has struggled with feel for CU but athleticism gives hope for development.

Development Path: Gil struggled with control but was virtually unhittable against Appy League competition. Gil has an equal chance at starting in full-season ball than he has starting in extended spring training.

Fantasy Impact: Gil was a revelation when he was acquired in the Jake Cave deal. He's still very green. It will take sometime to develop into the projected skills scouts have hung on his FB and CB.

Upside Grade: 8E

12. Luis Medina (RHP) ... 6-1, 175 ... 19 ... 2016 FA (DR)
2017Pulaski (App)
2018Pulaski (App)
2019Charleston (Sc) (SAL)
2019Tampa (FSL)10.20.840.9402.510.14.0.179
Comments: Hard-throwing, lean RHP continues to struggle with poor control in rookie ball. Unable to repeat 3/4s delivery with plus-plus arm-speed. FB is high-octane with slight run but lacks plane. 11-to-5 CB is sharp with late, plus-plus break but he struggles finishing delivery. CU has plus downward, arm-side run but doesn't maintain FB arm speed.

Development Path: Medina continues to struggle and will likely start 2019 back in Rookie Ball for another season.

Fantasy Impact: Medina development continues to go backwards. It's likely time for the Yankees to work him out of the pen, where his control issues can be minimized. He could have two plus-plus pitches as a reliever.

Upside Grade: 8E

13. Domingo Acevedo (RHP) ... 6-7, 242 ... 24 ... 2013 FA (DR)
2017Tampa (FSL)41.14.571.4002.
2018Staten Island (NYPL)4.23.861.2901.
2018Trenton (East)64.22.921.1002.
2019Trenton (East)35.03.860.9402.
2019Scranton/WB (IL)16.25.401.3802.
Comments: Tall, big-bodied with arm-heavy delivery struggled with bicep injury during 2nd half of season. Unorthodox, high-3/4s delivery with stiffness. Likely works best as RP. Mid-90s FB has late life. Could reach high-90s in spurts. SL has tightened up with late darting action. No feel for CU.

Development Path: Acevedo pitched well in Double-A and should move up to Triple-A. He should begin preparing for relief role.

Fantasy Impact: Acevedo hasn't dominated as much as the stuff would indicate he would. However, in the pen, he'll be able to air it out, ditch the CU and only concentrate on over-powering hitters.

Upside Grade: 7B

14. Matt Sauer (RHP) ... 6-4, 195 ... 20 ... 2017 (2) HS (CA)
2017GCL Yankees (GCL)11.25.401.8006.
2018Staten Island (NYPL)67.03.901.1602.
2019Charleston (Sc) (SAL)
Comments: Hard-throwing, big-bodied athletic RHP has been eased into pro role. Struggles to repeat max-effort 3/4s delivery. FB velocity backed up a bit, which caused his stuff to play down. FB has moderate break but flattened out in 2018. Sticking with 11-to-5 CB with average potential. Maintains FB arm speed with CU with arm-side run and sink.

Development Path: Sauer didn't overpower the competition in Low-A but did enough to be effective. He likely begins 2019 in Charleston's Single-A rotation.

Fantasy Impact: With his stuff backing up, Sauer isn't as attractive as he was this time last year. The FB simply stopped missing bats. His secondary pitches also didn't create many whiffs either. Could play up in RP role if stuff doesn't tick up.

Upside Grade: 7C

15. Josh Breaux (C) ... 6-1, 220 ... R/R ... 21 ... 2018 (2) McLennan Community College
YearTeam (LG)ABBA/OBP/Slgbb%ct% EyeHR/SB
2018GCL Yankees (GCL)8.125/.222/.12511881.000/0
2018Staten Island (NYPL)100.280/.295/.3703800.150/0
2019Charleston (Sc) (SAL)199.271/.324/.5187700.2513/0
Comments: Strong, bat-first C had solid pro debut. Big bodied physique at physical projection. Aggressive hit tool. Has solid bat/balls skills. Makes consistent hard contact but is susceptible to quality breaking balls. Raw plus power potential. Has had success in wood bat leagues with over-the-fence power. 20-25 HR hitter at maturity. Defense is a struggle.

Development Path: Breaux bat is ready for Single-A competition. He should be assigned to their Charleston affiliate to start 2019.

Fantasy Impact: Breaux is a catcher with a chance of producing in fantasy. The current approach will need to be brought in considerably if his power and hard contact abilities is going to play in MLB.

Upside Grade: 8E
