STARTERS: Very early slow start holds, 2020

There will be considerable early roster turnover in many leagues, since people want to avoid bad stats as much as possible.

That approach will result in good buying opportunities when skilled SP are sent to the waiver wire after some bad early starts.

Let's take a closer look at several SP in each league whose bad starts shouldn't cause you to panic.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Matt Boyd (LHP, DET) has posted an ugly 7.20 ERA and 1.70 WHIP after his first two starts of 2020. But those stats have been due to a 41% H% and 56% S% more than anything else. Boyd's skills are average (85 BPV), as are his primary command sub-indicators (10.7% SwK%, 36% ball%). No reason to jump ship here yet.

Nathan Eovaldi (RHP, BOS) hasn't made much of an impact so far...

Almost!
