STARTERS: None on/runners on BPV splits, 2014

It can be a beneficial exercise to look at the skill flashes posted by starting pitchers in certain situations.

One area we have focused on over the years involves the skills of starting pitchers with the bases empty and runners on base. Some pitchers can take a big leap forward by figuring out how to pitch better from the stretch.

Here are the SP who had the widest BPV splits with no runners on base/runners on in 2014:

  • BPV None On/Runners On*

    Name League BPV None On BPV Runners On Diff
    ==================  ======  ===========  ==============  ====
    Capuano, Chris          NL       126            3        -123
    Liriano, Francisco      NL       141           27        -114
    Cobb, Alex              AL       161          ...
