Let's continue our one-split-away theme by looking at the home/road splits of starting pitchers.
When deciding which SP to activate on a daily basis, a general rule is to target SP pitching at home, as home pitchers post much better stats and skills than their road counterparts.
In particular, a pitcher's ERA, WHIP, and BPV all have been consistently better at home than on the road over the past decade:

At an individual level, these starting pitchers own skills that have been much better at home than on the road so far in 2026 (min 20 IP home/road):
| Name | Lg | Tm | BPV Home | BPV Road | Δ |
| Jack Flaherty | AL | DET | 137 | 7 | +129 |
| Chris Bassitt | AL | BAL | 92 | (37) | +129 |
| Payton Tolle | AL | BOS | 169 | 54 | +115 |
| Emerson Hancock | AL | SEA | 174 | 63 | +111 |
| Kevin Gausman | AL | TOR | 181 | 74 | +107 |
