BATTERS: Threats to regress in 2014

As baseball fans, many of us want to believe in those batters that emerge during a season and post impressive, even historic numbers. Sometimes over a course of a season, the narrative surrounding a player's achievements can overshadow the achievements themselves. This phenomenon explains both the initial naivete of fans and media in regards to PEDs, as well as the eventual (and ongoing) backlash. As fans of the game, we want to believe what we're watching is driven by true talent, that it is as legitimate as it is thrilling. But as fanalytic owners, we know this isn't always the case.
