BATTERS: Risky Business

As much as owners want to believe otherwise, there are no sure things in baseball. It has been discussed in this space previously, but one need only look at the return on first round picks in the last few years to know that even the most talented players are a volatile commodity. While owners can't predict the future, they can attempt to avoid expensive players whose skills and/or history suggest increased risk for a lag in production.

This week's article covers some of the players that are risky propositions to return positive value given their current draft positions. Whether due to injury risk, curious BPI trends or both, the following players may struggle to justify their price tag.
