BATTERS: Early deep league targets, 2023

As we did with starting pitchers last week, let's help you target where to spend your speculative dollars on hitters if you play in a very competitive or deep league.

Here are a bunch of under-the-radar bats in each league that could be worth pursuing if you are searching for speculative targets. We'll also sprinkle in some undervalued prospects; see our scouting coverage for other options there.
 

AMERICAN LEAGUE

JJ Bleday (RF, OAK) was drafted 4th overall in the 2019 draft. He showed modest pop and major strikeout issues prior to this season, when he had a much better 20/15 BB/K in 98 AB at Triple-A prior to his promotion. He hasn't been able to sustain that level of contact with OAK (78% ct%), but that mark is still 11 points higher...
