BATTERS: BPV leaders, May 2023

Let's continue our 2023 look back at the batters who posted the best skills during the prior month.

These were the most skilled hitters during May (min 30 AB):

Here is a closer look at several skilled batters in each league whose top May skills or skill components should warrant your attention.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Akil Baddoo (OF, DET) had a really good May that you might not have noticed: .294 BA, 3 HR, 15 RBI, 3 SB, and .878 OPS in 68 AB. His plate skills were even better (14% bb%, 84% ct%, 1.00 Eye). His decent batted ball quality (89.7 mph EV, 5.3% Brl%) tempers hope that we'll see a big uptick in production, but the growth in his contact rate suggests he could be developing into an impact bat for those needing BA or SB support.
