2020 Losses/Graduations:
Logan Webb (RHP; #5 in 2020) appeared in 13 games (11 starts) covering 54 innings in 2020 and showed promise with his groundball style and moderate strikeout ability.

Mauricio Dubón (CF/INF; #6 in 2020) did not produce above average statistical outputs, but he nearly doubled his walk rate while showcasing intriguing power and speed.

2021 Additions:
#5 Patrick Bailey (C; 6-2, 207; B/R) adds to the impressive stable of young catchers in the system after he was selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2020 draft. The 21-year-old is already considered to be an above average backstop who should only get better with professional instruction. He's a switch-hitter also can inject power into the middle of a lineup, though he’ll need to close the holes in his swing and put the ball in play more consistently.

#7 Luis Matos (OF; 5-11, 160; R/R) continues to receive very positive accolades, though he’s yet to play full-season ball after his 2018 signing out of Venezuela.. He was impressive at the Giants alternate site and got plenty of reps in CF. Just 18 years old, the right-handed hitter has all five tools present in his skill set. Though none may be double-plus, he can hit hard line drives, show keen pitch recognition and patrol CF with a solid arm.

#9 Nick Swiney (LHP; 6-3, 187) was a supplemental 2nd round pick in 2020 and signed for an over-slot $1.2 million. Moved to the starting rotation in his last season at North Carolina State, he showcased a solid-average fastball along with a curveball that could evolve into a plus offering. His stock rose in 2020 due to his much-improved control and he is expected to grow into a solid mid-rotation option for years to come.

#10 Kyle Harrison (LHP; 6-2, 200) may have only been a 3rd round pick in 2020 out of high school in California, but his signing bonus ($2.5 million) speaks volumes about how he is perceived within the Giants organization. With an athletic and smooth delivery, The 19-year-old operates with a low 90s fastball that features plenty of run and sink. He also mixes in a slider and change-up that grade as at least average. If he adds a few more ticks to his fastball, he should quickly climb this top prospect list.

2021 Grade Changes:
Luis Matos’s grade jumped from an 8E to an 8D due to reports out of the alternate site and instructional league. Given his age (18), it would be expected for him to struggle against older pitching at those camps. Not so, according to team executives and scouts. He held his own and showed a remarkable ability to make adjustments for such a young player. Of course, he needs to play in full-season ball, but the future looks certainly bright.

Additional Notes:
He may not have hit a HR in 103 AB in 2020, but Joey Bart impressed with his ability to make hard contact, above average defensive skills and his power projection. His overall stat line (.233/.288/.320 in 103 AB) may not excite anybody, but he only had 79 AB above High-A prior to the 2020 campaign … Heliot Ramos and Hunter Bishop showed positive developments at the alternate site. Bishop arrived late due to COVID-19 and supposedly made up for lost time quickly. With a glut of centerfielders in the system, he may be the best of the bunch. Ramos dealt with an oblique strain, but showcased his mature abilities … The strength of the system continues to be the position players as there is an impressive array of outfielders, backstops and a pair of legitimate shortstops in Marco Luciano and Will Wilson. Perhaps a few of the arms can take steps forward in 2021.
