BaseballHQ writers recognized by FSWA

Awards season is upon us—and no, I’m not talking Grammys this Monday. But there’s some impressive news from over the weekend regarding (perhaps) a few of your favorite BaseballHQ writers.

The Fantasy Sports Writers Association is a small group of scribes and content providers from across the fantasy sports industry. Every year they grant awards to standout writers, podcasters and videographers, and on Friday the FSWA announced the finalists for 2025.

On the one hand, it’s important to not take these awards too seriously—the industry is still a niche one (few who are recognized are even doing this as a fulltime job), and there’s no big prize or anything. But on the other hand, the FSWA does get some outside folks to help judge the categories and the process is fairly transparent. And recognition for hard work is always a good thing.

BaseballHQ has been well-represented in these awards in the past; you can browse past winners on our Titles and Awards page (FSWA is listed at the bottom). The 2025 finalists were announced on Friday, January 30th and BHQ was again well represented in several categories:

Best Baseball Publication:

  • Ron Shandler’s 2025 Baseball Forecaster (Brent Hershey and Ray Murphy, co-editors; Ryan Bloomfield and Brandon Kruse, associate editors)
  • 2025 Minor League Baseball Analyst (Brent Hershey, editor; Chris Blessing and Jeremy Deloney, associate editors)

Best Baseball Series:

  • Alain de Leonardis (NL East PT Tomorrow)
  • Brant Chesser (Facts/Flukes)
  • Ryan Bloomfield (in-season Market Pulse)

Baseball Writer of the Year

  • Alain de Leonardis

Best Baseball Podcast

  • Bubba and the Bloom (not an “official” BHQ podcast, but features staffers Brian Entrekin (Bubba) and Ryan Bloomfield)

You can view the entire list of award nominees across all categories at this FSWA page. Winners in each category will be announced February 25 on SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio.

Join us in congratulating all the BaseballHQ-affiliated nominees!
