The Chicago Cubs returned to the postseason in 2025 winning a thrilling three-game Wild Card Series against the Padres before dropping an equally thrilling five-game Division Series against the Brewers. With last season's big trade acquisition, Kyle Tucker, looking like he will sign somewhere other than the North Side of Chicago, the Cubs inked a five-year/$175 million deal to bring in third baseman Alex Bregman.

Bregman will turn 32 at the beginning of the season and his bat should be a considerable upgrade over Matt Shaw at the hot corner.
