After all the hand-wringing during spring training and the first month of the season about how playing time would be allocated in St. Louis’ outfield, the team suddenly doesn’t have enough players at the position. After both Tyler O’Neill (OF, STL) and Dylan Carlson (OF, STL) shifted to the injured list, the team made two primary moves. The first is to push either Tommy Edman (2B/SS, STL) or Brendan Donovan (2B/SS/OF, STL) to the outfield, which allows the other to play at second base and Nolan Gorman (2B, STL) to remain the lineup as the DH.
