As Jock Thompson noted when the trade was first consummated, there was some murkiness around the playing time of Brian Dozier (2B, LAD), at least once the Dodger infield reached full strength, as it was expected to do August 2 with the return of Justin Turner (3B, LAD).

The question is less about what happens against LHP, against whom Dozier will be in the lineup, manager Dave Roberts confirmed. Dozier has no discernable splits in 2018—he’s been equally disappointing against RHP and LHP, a cynic might say—but last year he posted a 1.057 OPS vs. LHP in 145 AB, and for his career Dozier’s OPS vs. LHP is significantly higher (.872 vs. .739).
